FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who?  Open to high school level students that reside in Hartland, Michigan, both male & female.

What?  SBX SnowboardCross racing.  SnowboardCross racing was added as a new Olympic sport in 2006.

Where?  Mt. Brighton in Brighton, Michigan.  You are responsible for your own transportation.

When?  Monday & Thursdays at 4:00pm at Mt. Brighton

Dry-land Training:  Prior to adequate snow conditions, Monday & Thursdays at HHS at 3:00pm - 4:30pm

Cost:  The snowboard team is self-funded which means it does not draw funds from the school.  This team is a non-profit organization.
             
  • $47 Pay-To-Play fee required and paid to the HHS Athletic Department     
  • $75 Team Fee
  • Lift Tickets:  Purchase your season pass today.  www.mtbrighton.com  If you chose not to purchase a season pass from Mt. Brighton, you will pay a discounted, racer's lift ticket price each time we have a practice or meet.  The cost of the discounted lift ticket is TBA/per visit.  A season pass is the best deal.  Every rider, including those that have a season pass must pay a discounted lift ticket price when racing at Alpine with the team.

State Meet:  Our State Meet will be hosted at Mt. Brighton this season.

Transportation:  Riders need to provide their own transportation.

Equipment:  All riders must have their own appropriate snowboard, boots, bindings & helmets.  A mouth guard is recommended. 

School Requirements:  Riders must have a completed physical and waiver on file with HHS prior to participation in dry-land training or snowboarding.  There are no exceptions.  

Student Conduct:  All riders must comply with HHS current policies such as grades, attendance, conduct etc... in order to participate with the team.  You may read the student handbook at http://hartlandschools.us/handbooks/sec_hdbk.pdf
